Jeffrey Taksey

Jeff Taksey is the managing member and brings over forty years of accounting experience to the firm.  His experience allows him to provide unique value to the clients detailed operational, growth or transition planning.  His tax and business valuation knowledge has allowed him to assist numerous clients in structuring purchases or sales of their business or professional practices.  He has served on the Healthcare and also on the Business Valuation/Litigation Support Committees of the Maryland Association of CPAs.

Jeff graduated from Benjamin Franklin University, Washington, DC, in 1971 with a Bachelor degree in Commercial Science.  He then worked for one of his college professors for six years after passing the CPA exam with his initial sitting.  He began practicing as an owner in 1976.  In 1995 Jeff received the Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). He also received the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Certificate of Educational Achievement in business valuation and was subsequently awarded the designation of Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV). In 2010 he was further awarded the designation of Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the AICPA.  Jeff has also been an active member of Vistage International (local Chief Executive Group 3399) since 2005.

Edward Neff

Edward Neff has been a principal with the firm since 2005 and, as tax partner, brings over twenty years of tax and accounting experience working with a broad range of clients in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He has expertise in business consulting, business development, accounting system setup and maintenance, financial management, estate planning, tax compliance, planning and tax preparation for businesses as well as individuals.

Samreen Sadiq

Samreen Sadiq is a CPA who has been with the firm since 2009 and specializes in accounting for businesses as well as corporate and individual tax return preparation and planning. Samreen acquired her Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University Of Maryland University College before acquiring her public and managerial accounting certifications. Apart from working on tax return preparation and tax planning for both individual and business entities, Ms Sadiq is also involved in the preparation of compiled financial statements, monitoring client’s accounting systems and IRS representation matters. She also prepares reviewed and audited financial statements, as well as oversees 401K plan audits.

Caroline Hinch

Caroline (Carrie) Hinch has been with the firm since January 2015. She studied Accounting at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland and graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors. Prior to joining Taksey Neff & Associates, LLC, she had several years’ experience focused on tax planning and tax preparation for high net worth individuals. Since joining the Taksey Neff & Associates, LLC team she has grown from a senior associate position into a senior client manager role and continues to excel in tax services for both individuals and businesses. Carrie has also become a valuable part of our team of accounting specialists who assist our business clients with their financial reporting needs. Carrie has many years of experience working with small and medium size business clients and enjoys helping clients to reach their goals by servicing their tax and accounting needs.

Carrie’s specialties include corporate, nonprofit, trust and individual taxation. A love for tax coupled with a strong background in accounting are some of the attributes that make her a great fit for public accounting. Carrie enjoys the research and continuing education necessary to stay current with tax law changes. She has led the accounting system setup and maintenance at the firm and is proficient in the top accounting software available to our industry.

Most importantly, Carrie believes in growing relationships and strives to create genuine connections with clients, coworkers and other professionals. She is a Rockville Chamber of Commerce member and is always looking for opportunities to promote other small businesses and individuals around Rockville to excel in their profession.

Lorie Conners

Lorie Conners is a staff accountant who has been with the firm since 1995.  She is responsible for all accounting and bookkeeping functions within the firm; preparation of compiled financial statements; personal property returns; and all payroll issues. Ms. Conners also provides personal bill paying assistance. Her interest and experience is with small businesses and its owners. Ms. Conners is also responsible for consultation, setup, training and on-going support for clients who have QuickBooks software.

zilinZilin Zhou joined our firm in 2015 as a staff accountant. Zilin acquired her Master of Science in Accounting from University of Maryland, College Park. At Taksey Neff & Associates, LLC she is responsible for accounting and bookkeeping for a number of the firm’s business clients, preparation of compiled financial statements as well as preparation of personal property returns.

Matthew Rosenfeld

Matthew Rosenfeld has been a staff accountant with the firm since June 2016 and specializes in accounting for small and medium businesses. Mr. Rosenfeld has over 5 years of experience in accounting.Prior to starting his career in accounting he worked in the advertising and marketing industry for six years. At Taksey Neff & Associates, LLC, he is responsible for preparing corporate, partnership and individual tax returns and the preparation of compiled financial statements for the firm’s business clients. In addition, he will also be helping with audits and marketing communications for the company. He earned his bachelor’s degree from New England College and pursued accounting classes post-graduation at Montgomery College. He is currently a candidate for the CPA exam.

janeJane Sofia started with the firm in 2009 as the firm’s administrative assistant. After successfully balancing all of the responsibilities that this position entailed, in 2014 Jane was promoted to being the firm’s financial and personnel administrator. In this position, Jane handles all office matters, from ensuring office supply inventories to overseeing firm accounts payable, accounts receivable as well as the assembly and dissemination of each client’s tax forms and documents. Mrs. Sofia brings over 20 years of office and administrative experience, an asset which has been indispensible in the efficient and professional operations of our firm.

Tonya Vaughn

Tonya Vaughn joined our firm in 2013 as our administrative assistant. She quickly acclimated to the workings of the firm and molded herself to her new role with surprising ease. Her initial career was devoted to work in the customer service industry. During that time, she acquired high quality customer service and management skills. She displays these skills every day in her work quality, whether she is answering the phones, scheduling appointments or in juggling a multitude of general office duties. Her efforts are an indispensible part of the support needed for our busy accounting staff. She is a native Marylander and loves painting the captivating landscape vistas in the state.
